For our 10 year old to 6th grade group (12 or 13 years old) we offer the Note Taker program.  This is a simple title that means exactly what it implies.  Our Note Takers take notes each Sunday morning during the service when the preacher is speaking.  They bring their notes to Mr. Roy or Ms. Angie to check and verify that they were  listening and taking notes.  Once a quarter, as a reward, we have certain activities.  Sometimes the activities are small, like miniature golf or bowling, and sometimes the rewards are larger, like a trip to St. Louis, Mammoth Cave, Memphis, Nashville, Chattanooga, and etc. 

Our hope in offering this program is that the kids will become invested in what the preacher has to say.  At their age it is hard to keep your attention focused for 25 or 30 minutes, we hope that this program will help.  Mr. Roy went through a program much like this as a child and it really paid off for him.  To this day he still takes notes when he listens to a sermon!  It is our goal to help these kids in the same way!
