Life Groups

In the early days of Christianity the disciples of Jesus met in both large assemblies, in places like the temple, and in smaller, more intimate settings, like the homes of various believers. While it is encouraging and uplifting to fellowship and worship with a large gathering of believers, it is also a blessing to share life with a smaller group of believers as well. That’s where Life Groups come in to play.

Life Groups are small groups of disciples that meet on Sunday afternoons or Sunday evenings in the homes of group members or, in some cases, at the church building. Most of our Life Groups consist of 12-15 adults, with some groups including children and others consisting only of adults. We also have a Life Group that serves college students at MSU. Some Life Groups eat together each week, while others share a meal only occasionally. Some Life Groups meet year round without breaks, while others meet for significant portions of the year, with breaks at different times during the year. Some of our Life Groups use their time together each week to further discuss the Sunday morning message and seek to discover ways to apply that message to their lives, while other Life Groups use their time to discuss Bible topics that are selected by the group. As you can see, we try to make our Life Groups flexible and accommodating so that everyone who wants to participate in a Life Group can find one that works for them.

Life Groups provide the members of our church family with opportunities to deepen their relationships with other disciples, to grow in their walk with Jesus, and to reach out to others with the good news of the new life made possible by Jesus. If you’re looking for an opportunity to grow in your spiritual walk, to build deeper relationships with other believers, and to make a difference in the lives of believers and non-believers alike, then you’ll want to consider joining a Life Group.
